Looks like 2016 will not have the 887 in their product lineup. I think it was in production since 2009 or 2010? I owned one just to try out because reports I had read or heard from guys was either a love it or hate it, so I had to buy one to see for myself. Had it for a year or so, using it just for general shooting and ran her hard putting it through the paces. Went back to Remington once for not going into battery along with a few other things. When returned it still had the same issues. Given the msrp, I could not figure out why someone would want one of these over an 870 express or a nice used wingmaster.

Thanks Remmy had not heard. Just read an article on the V-3 in the March issue of Shooting Times. MSRP for the synthetic model is quoted at $895 with the wood going for about $100 more. They claimed it functioned well with different loads. I too would prefer a used 1100 or Wingmaster. Never failed me.

Any and every company that wants to remain fresh and viable in todays market must take a hard look at their line from time to time and see what works and what needs to be re-vamped or go.

Remington IS trying to stay fresh within the niche it has carved for itself...which I feel IS a good thing for them as well as US.

Agree Shooter but some of these new offerings just don't light my fire like the 1100's and older Wingmasters. No doubt changes had to be made to stay profitable and make some affordable models. Luckily still making our favorite ones but the prices can scare ya and are out of reach for many hunters and shooters. Still browsing for a Special Field in 20.
