I own a Model 700 BDL and a Model 7600...so, I have what I need. Now, what I want...that's a whole 'nother story. |

Ha! I hear ya Shooter. Mine are similar but my 700 is an ADL bought new in 84 when they made some changes by including sling swivel studs, cut checkering on the walnut, and more of a flared forend with deep bluing. My Model Four auto seems like a rarer model but have seem em on Gunbroker now and then.

Got me wondering as to what I paid back in 81 and 84. Checked my paperwork. Paid $330 for the 700 and the Model Four listed for $450 but dealer knocked off $50. Good Ole Walnut we always took for granted. Heard the price has risen dramatically over the years for finely figured walnut and takes a long time to dry before usage.

The Eighties, the last years of a Quality Remington product! Except for 2 Perazzis all of my long guns were Remingtons. I really miss those days and the quality of their product! It was second to none! Now, not so much! Too bad.

Tend to agree mardetcv66. Glad I bought back when I did. My TB 1100 trap has not failed to function once. Paid under $350 for it new in 1980. Just replaced the O rings last year! Those "lower cost " models along with customer complaints are a real shame. The less frills common guns we bought back then seem like custom guns today!!
