I have read this gap is not uncommon, but looks odd compared to the first R1 I bought 3 years ago and the Commander just last month. Doesn't really matter to me though as I'm gonna replace it with some kind of night sight such as a tritium.

Any suggestions as to what will fit that front dovetail? I don't know if its dimensions are standard or proprietary. Am keeping the two dot rear sight in place.
