Is this a simple as swapping out the old bolt buffer and pad with new parts? the old buffer had the steel lip broken off of it. the rifle was brought to me by a friend it is over 45 years old and it was cruddy inside the buffer pad was hard as a rock!

I have new parts on order.

By no means an expert, but IIRC it was an easy swap. Just drop-in-drop-out.
