I have a 12 ga 1100 with a stan baker bb barrel the end of the barrel is swagged for choke tubes the tubes I got resemble winchokes with indentations in knurled top for winchoke wrench.I am in need of a full choke for this barrel. The tube is 2 3/4 inches long. Can anyone shed light on who made these chokes and can they still be had

As far as I know, Stan used standard Winchoke tubes, but he often custom bored them. I had several of his barrels with Winchokes in 12 gauge. I don't remember the details of the 10 gauge barrels, but I had a few of those too.

Thanks Virginian I have a friend that has a Baker barrel that is not swagged, his chokes are definitely winchoke but are almost an inch shorter than the ones in my barrel.Just can't seem to find out where these things came from

Stan made a bunch of "custom" choke tubes for me when I was trying to optimize long range patterns, and I seem to remember some were shorter than others, and the barrel had to be matched to the tube length because of the way the Winchokes worked. I was also working with Ralph Walker and that was one reason we preferred a non Winchoke style tube; that way you could change anything with just the tube requiring change. Then everyone came out with choke tubes and they banned lead shot and rendered 95% of what I had done moot. I will never forgive them. I did have an effective 80 yard goose combination.
