Gotta be "Pro Bore" brother.....all VM's are Pro Bore choked...so if some are labeled "Versa Max" then they will fit.
To me this is a better way to distinguish them from Regular Rem Chokes!
If it fits the VM label it so:)

I've been using the Hevi Shot Mid Range for ducks and on the range shooting Skeet and Sporting with good results. I got the 2 pack with the Mid range and Extended range choke. Both throw a good pattern out of my gun. Chief

The standard Versamax chokes are pretty much a joke for patterning steel. have done extensive patterning with these chokes as well as other brands and constrictions. I have found the Improved Modified to be the sweet spot for this gun with 1550fps steel in #3's and #2's.

The standard chokes at .004, .009 and .014 are way to open. The tightest choke the .014 isnt even a Light Mod. and threw just 50% patterns for me.

Trust me get an IM you will love it !!!!!

Not what again telling people the chokes that Rem sent out for this gun are a joke ?

For a$1300 a guy shouldnt have to go out and purchase new chokes or better yet the chokes provided shouldnt print 50% patterns.

I just purchased a new Versa Max Stortsman. I took it dove hunting the next day and didn't do as good as I have in the past, it came with a Factory Modified choke. Does anybody have any suggestions what choke tube works best and where to get it?? I have shopped Bass Pro, Academy and a few other sporting goods and gun shops. I can't find any choke tube for it so I'm going to have to order it.

Any suggestion?

They are great and don't blow holes in the pattern. I use them in all my shot guns now.

Hey guys, so I have been doing research on pro bore chokes for the versa max. I have been shooting trap and skeet with only a modified. How can HEVI-shot, Carlsons, and Remington factory pro bore chokes compare? Any thoughts?

Midwestgunworks and choketube by Carlsons are the websites I've been searching around.

I've noticed that Carlsons and hevishot offer lifetime warranty. Can't see anything about Remington.

OK I know, older thread. I couldn't help but read that everyone is saying the "over decoys" .009 is stating that its a modified choke. remington's website along with others state IMP Cyl. I even seen another forum that sated them completely different from what we have above and remington's site. I bring this up to ask, did we completely miss something? or is it just an ongoing debate on what they really should be? :?: :?: :?:

Choke: Constriction

Cylinder .000
Skeet 1 .005
Imp Cyl .010
Skeet 2 (lite mod) .015
Modified .020
Imp Mod .025
Full .030
Extra Full .040
Turkey .045
